Global Association of Hanzi Gospel Mission & Vision
Objectives |
Our association aims to “interpret the Gospel in Hanzi (Chinese characters), to illuminate the mysteries of Hanzi and to promote Hanzi Gospel”. Guided by the above goals, our association uses Chinese characters as a tool to combine Chinese culture with the Bible. It is our hope that Hanzi Gospel can shed light on the universality of Chinese characters and help people understand the meaning of Hanzi so as to promote intellectual growth, bring spiritual growth, and cultivate knowledge of humanities.

Missions |
I. Studying key Chinese characters in the Bible (Hanzi Gospel) and promoting its application: Our association seeks cooperation with academic and religious communities in Taiwan and abroad to study Hanzi Gospel, to discuss the form, sound and meaning of Chinese characters, to collect relevant cultural information, and to advocate for the combination of Chinese culture and western Christianity.
II. Assisting or holding academic activities on Hanzi Gospel: Through academic activities including research, lecturing, training, workshops, guest visits, exhibits, etc., our association is dedicated to the study of the relationship between Chinese characters and Christianity, and to apply the studies in teaching and sharing Hanzi Gospel for many occasions.
III. Developing artistic and cultural activities on Hanzi Gospel:Based on the key Chinese characters in the Bible, our association develops artistic and cultural activities such as storytelling, acting, dancing, music, poetry, painting, animation, calligraphy, arts and crafts, humor, seminars and forums, and producing media programs. In addition, it is the association’s responsibility to guarantee that the above activities are nspirational, educational, and cultural.
IV. Producing and publishing audio-visual products on Hanzi Gospel around the world: Our association collects information on Hanzi Gospel in Taiwan and abroad and compiles a Hanzi Gospel electronic dictionary for government, academia and religious communities through computer and information technology. In addition, quality TV programs, magazines, books, monthly/quarterly/annual journals, and other media product on Hanzi Gospel will be made and be published around the world. It is our hope that these products will be used for purifying people’s hearts, promoting a caring society, and benefiting all human beings.
V. Assisting government in developing policies on Hanzi Gospel and providing entrusting service: Our association forms customized project teams for different commissions from government, public and private institutions, and business groups to provide services including teaching Hanzi Gospel in Taiwan and abroad, reviewing relevant works, consultations, and granting certifications. VI. Engaging in philanthropic activities reflecting our association’s objective: Our association contacts and cooperates with relevant institutions, academic groups, religious communities, business groups and cultural organizations in holding philanthropic activities that reflect our objectives.
VI. Establishing and running creative Hanzi Gospel Pavilion: Our association dedicates to promote Hanzi Gospel and enhances the competitiveness of ideogram through international exchange activities, introducing “the genuineness of Hanzi’s evolution”, “the beauty of Hanzi’s form”, and “the kindness of Hanzi’s meaning” in diverse means.

Membership |
I. individual membership: Anyone who is above 20 years of age, supporting our association’s objectives, possessing one of the following qualifications, and is endorsed by one current member can apply for membership. After the association council reviews and approves the application, and admission fee is paid, the applicant becomes a formal member.
- a) Experts at Hanzi (Chinese) and Bible
- b) Supporters of Hanzi Gospel
- c) Researchers and advocators of Hanzi Gospel
- d) Educators who promote Hanzi Gospel and use it in life education, character education, family education, school education, and social education
- e) People who are willing to develop teaching materials on Hanzi Gospel and publish them around the world
- f) People who are interested in Hanzi Gospel websites and Hanzi Gospel electronic dictionary
- g) People who are keen on Hanzi, Hanzi culture, art, evolution and meaning and are willing to advocate them.
II. Student membership: Any college and university student who supports our association’s objectives and is endorsed by one current member can apply for membership. After the association council reviews and approves the application, and admission fee is paid, the student applicant becomes a formal member.
III. Group membership: Any public and private institution or group supporting our association’s objectives can apply for group membership. One representative should be appointed to represent a group and exercise membership rights.
IV. Permanent membership: A permanent membership can be granted to any individual or group who supports our association’s objectives after the association council reviews and approves the application.
V. Honorary membership: An honorary membership can be awarded to any individual or group that supports our association’s objectives and has made special contribution to or outstanding research for our association. Endorsement from ten current members as well as reviews and approval from the association council are required.
VI. Supporting membership: A supporting membership can be awarded to any individual or group that supports, endorses or sponsors our association after the association council reviews and approves the application.

Resources for Association’s Fund |
I. Admission fees For individual members, NTD 500 should be paid upon submitting application. For student members, NTD 200 should be paid upon submitting application. For group members, NTD 10,000 should be paid upon submitting application.
II. Annual membership fees For individual members, NTD 1,000 should be paid per year. For student members, NTD 300 should be paid per year. For group members, NTD 10,000 should be paid per year. Note: For new members, annual membership fee should be paid together with admission fee. (The first annual membership fee is calculated based on application date.) If any individual member pays a lump sum of more than NTD 20,000 membership fees, he/she becomes a permanent member. Permanent members and honorary members are exempted from membership fees.

Personnel |
All personnel should be elected by members. Association council consists of twenty-one members (one president, three vice-presidents, three standing council members, and fourteen council members). Supervisory committee is comprised of six members (one standing supervisor and six supervisors). The association shall have one secretary-general, one to three deputy secretary-general(s), and other employees, nominated by president, appointed and discharged by resolution at the association council’s meeting and submitted to the competent authority for records.
